ESSMA Stadium Partner Philips announced an agreement to transform the lighting of the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium (capacity 42,500), home to Spanish La Liga club Sevilla FC

Day 2 of the Workshop was kicked off with an introduction by RFU’s Sustainability Manager, Dru Morton. After he welcomed the participants, members were taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of Twickenham Stadium where Morton disseminated a lot of technical data regarding the venue, its operations and sustainability credentials. 

The European Stadium & Safety Management Association will assemble during its Global Stadium Tour in the USA (Miami and Minneapolis) from 29 August to 1 September 2017

Arsenal’s Deputy Stadium Manager, Michael Lloyd, opened the event by welcoming everyone to the venue. In his opinion, BASIS is the perfect organisation in terms of environmental impact and energy consumption needs of sport venues for likeminded stadium executives who want to work together.

The inaugural ESSMA-BASIS Smart & Sustainable Stadium Workshop was co-hosted by Arsenal FC’s Emirates Stadium on Day 1 and the home of England Rugby, the Rugby Football Union (RFU’s) Twickenham Stadium on Day 2. 

The FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 starts today with the game between Russia and New Zealand at 6PM local time (5PM GMT+2). The opening match will be played at ESSMA Stadium Member FC Zenit's new Saint Petersburg Stadium. 

ESSMA Stadium Partner Philips Lighting and Stadium Member Olympique Lyonnais are going to work together to transform the Parc Olympique Lyonnais with next-generation LED lighting.
