Virtual reality (VR) is set to change the sports industry and football clubs join the trend. From live stream broadcasting to developing applications, several European clubs are trying to implement VR to enhance fan experience. 

This year’s World Stadium Congress was held 21-24 May in Doha, Qatar with a focus on the delivery requirements for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™. Together with several stakeholders, participants had the chance to discuss pre-event, on the day and post-event delivery requirements – from construction, to fan experience, to legacy and beyond.

From 1 July 2017, the Juventus Stadium, an ESSMA Stadium Member and host of ESSMA’s Fan Entertainment Workshop in October, will be renamed the Allianz Stadium of Turin. Allianz and Juventus have signed an agreement for the coming six seasons, until 30 June 2023.

On day 2 of the Pitch Management Workshop in Leicester City FC’s King Power Stadium and Training Centre ESSMA members learned more about day-to-day ops and player injury management further on the program were two panel debates and a behind-the-scenes tour. 

The two-day Pitch Management Workshop in Leicester City FC’s King Power Stadium and Training Centre brought together ESSMA Members to learn, network and knowledge-share on all aspects pertaining to pitch management, from pitch renovations, tools & technologies, to player injury management, budget control and managing events.
