ESSMA conducted a case study on French stadium infrastructure following the ESSMA Stadium Tour in France (2-4 June) which brought the participants to some of the EURO 2016 host venues. This study is carried out in order to inform the ESSMA members/partners and all input used comes from members and previous studies completed by ESSMA.

In the beginning of February, FC Zenit was the first club to try out the new ESSMA ‘Join the ‘X’ Manager’ programme. This practical educational programme is all about one-on-one education where stadium professionals can experience match day preparations with other peers (equal professionals in comparable stadiums) in order to increase their management knowledge.
Hosts for this programme were Emirates Stadium (Arsenal FC) and Etihad Stadium (Manchester City).

Before the start of the ESSMA Training Center Tour, Lorenzo Santoni, head of B Futura at Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie B,  visited the Ghelamco Arena. We were welcomed by the commercial director of KAA Gent, Patrick Lips.

The ESSMA tour of various football training centres was held over the 21st and 22nd April 2015 and was most informative in terms of shared knowledge and learning. Together with 21 participants from different clubs, leagues and Stadium Partners we experienced two interesting days while visiting 5 venues in 3 countries.

CAFE (Centre for Access to Football in Europe) is working with supporters, clubs and governing bodies towards one clear aim - a more accessible and inclusive match day experience for disabled supporters across Europe. 'Total Football - Total Access', that is their goal. They consider themselves as a representative for disabled fans all across Europe.

From February till June 2014 I finished my studies Sportsmanagement at Bruges University College with a fantastic ESSMA-experience as a Management Trainee. During this period I could discover the stadium industry, which is improving every day. ESSMA is professionalizing and evolving on a daily basis and this gave me the opportunity to work in a professional and international association.

The first ESSMA Summit was organized by the European Stadium & Safety Management Association in cooperation with event partners ECA, EPFL and the ICSS. This two-day summit took place on January 27th & 28th in the Allianz Arena located in Munich. More than 220 participants from over 25 different countries were present to experience stadium tours, keynote speakers, 9 different workshops and intensive networking.

ESSMA were recently invited by Mr Jeff Cards - Ground Superintendent at Marylebone Cricket Club, to visit Lord’s Cricket Ground in order to officialise the first cricket ground in the world to become an ESSMA member, another milestone in the growth of the association and the Club.

The Jan Breydel Stadium is the venue of two Belgian first division teams. First of all you have Club Brugge and secondly there is Cercle Brugge. It was in the mid seventies that Club Brugge moved from the Albert Dyserynck Stadium to the Olympia Stadium, what is now called the Jan Breydel Stadium. ESSMA was invited by Ms Dagmar Decramer, who is the Operations Manager at Club Brugge KV.
