"We are very proud to announce that we are moving to the Johan Cruijff ArenA for our Summit in 2024. It is one of the top stadiums in Europe and we are therefore convinced that, together with the Johan Cruijff Arena team, we will put on a top edition", says Ludwig Sneyers, Managing Director of ESSMA.
"We are very excited to host the ESSMA 2024 at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in January. We facilitate the most high-profile football matches, the most spectacular concerts and the most attractive business events. It is also why, as a stadium, we want to be the best when it comes to fan experience, mobility, safety, sustainability, facility management and digitalization. Therefore, bringing everyone together is an amazing opportunity to learn from each other because in the end it is all about creating meaningful memories", says Margreet Schraagen, Eventmanager at Johan Cruijff ArenA.
About the stadium
The Johan Cruijff ArenA, until 2018 Amsterdam ArenA, is a multifunctional stadium in Amsterdam with 55,865 seats. This makes it the largest football stadium in the Netherlands. For concerts, its maximum capacity is 71,000 visitors. Since 14 August 1996, it has been the home of football club AFC Ajax. The American footballers of Amsterdam Admirals also played their home games there. With a slope of 37 degrees, the ArenA's stands are the fourth steepest in Europe. In 2021, the ArenA was one of the playing stadiums for the postponed EURO2020.
Sustainability
To minimize the footprint of the stadium and its visitors, the Arena Uses a mix of proven sustainability measures and innovative technology. The stadium is the perfect testing ground for developing and testing innovations. Wherever possible, they take every opportunity to work on sustainability projects, big or small. The good thing is that these projects often benefit not only the stadium but also the immediate surroundings and society. More than 4,200 solar panels on the roof and a wind turbine in Oudendijk supply green energy to the ArenA. They also develop and implement breakthrough systems that make their energy consumption smarter and more sustainable.
