Gamla Ullevi is situated right in the city centre of Gothenburg. The stadium was built in 2007-2008 and the first match was played on 5 April 2009. Our vision is to be the most attractive football stadium in the Nordic countries and to attract the most visitors.
The Stadium is used solely for football and is the home ground of three Gothenburg teams, IFK Goteborg, GAIS and Orgryte IS. Gamla Ullevi is also the national stadium for the Swedish national women’s team.
In 2009 Gamla Ullevi and Gothenburg hosted the UEFA Under-21 championship together with three other host cities in Sweden. In 2013 it hosted of the UEFA Women’s Euro together with five other host cities in Sweden.
