ECA and ESSMA agree Strategic Partnership ahead of 2022-2023 club season

European Club Association (ECA) and European Stadium and Safety Management Association (ESSMA) announce that they have renewed their strategic partnership ahead of the 2022-2023 European club football season.

As part of the partnership ECA will benefit from exclusive access to stadium industry content and to ESSMA content for use in ECA’s online seminars with its member clubs.

Under the terms of the agreement ECA once again acted as a Strategic Partner at the ESSMA Summit which took place between 31 May and 1 June 2022 at the home of Olympique de Marseille, the Orange Vélodrome.

This unique stadium industry event which is organised by ESSMA provides club representatives with the opportunity to exchange knowledge and best practices on matters concerning stadium management and exploitation.

Following on from a special 2021 event in Turin, the 2022 edition of the ESSMA Summit gathered stadium experts, and representatives from clubs and leagues, to discuss various topics related to stadium management including stadium development, fan experience, safety & security, sustainability, and pitch management. The conference programme offered participants from across Europe a mix of keynote speeches, in-depth seminars, thematic stadium tours and networking opportunities.

ECA Director of Commercial & Business Development, Lasse Wolter, said of the Strategic Partnership:

"ECA is very pleased to have renewed this strategic partnership with ESSMA for the 2022-2023 European club season.  ECA is always seeking to bring additional value to its members by delivering and diversifying its portfolio of services. This partnership with ESSMA will help ECA members access new additional content in stadium-related areas of expertise around safety, security, and development. It will also provide our members with an additional specific networking opportunity in this specialised area.”

ESSMA’s Managing Director, Ludwig Sneyers commented on the partnership:

“I am pleased to announce this renewed partnership between the ECA and ESSMA, which I believe will create a synergy that will be beneficial for members of both associations. ESSMA’s mission is to inform and unite the stadium industry. We look forward to doing that by sharing our expertise in stadium exploitation and development and opening up some of our services to ECA’s members.”
