ESSMA Safety & Security Workshop: Join us in the Allianz Arena on 29 & 30 March!
Register for the safety & security workshop
Our first live event of 2022 is taking place on 29 and 30 March in the Allianz Arena in Munich. ESSMA will bring together the stadium industry to handle post-Covid safety and security issues, from pyrotechnics and pitch invasions to crowd management after Covid-19. In this article you will find out more about the preliminary programme, our first confirmed speakers and some practical information about the upcoming workshop.
Topics: a focus on post-COVID fan behaviour and safety measures
On the first day of our first physical workshop since 2019 we’ll be joined by ESSMA Strategic Partner and the authority when it comes to safety in sports venues in the UK, as the Sports Ground Safety Authority (SGSA) will lead a hands-on workshop session. You’ll get the chance to work with your peers in small, dedicated groups to discuss shared challenges and help each other to find possible solutions, guided by experts from the SGSA and ESSMA.
Our 2 first speaking slots of this workshop will focus on the problematic incidents that can be caused by pyrotechnics and the possible alternatives that clubs might offer fans to create an engaging matchday atmosphere.
We’ll round up day 1 with a dedicated stadium tour of the Allianz Arena, where participants will get a “behind the scenes” look of the stadium’s safety facilities. The club’s safety experts will give you a full explanation of the protocols in place and the technologies that have helped the stadium become one of the safest football temples in Europe.
Since fans returned to live sports events after the COVID-pandemic, pitch invasions have become an increasingly difficult problem to deal with, as they seemed to appear more regularly throughout Europe. How can you deal with them in a constructive manner and what can you do to prevent them? On the second day of our workshop, our experienced stadium managers will share possible solutions for those issues as we will tackle the topics of pitch invasions and crowd management.
