Industry update: more on development, fan experience and safety

Read more on the new Raiffeisen Arena of Linzer ASK, the Belgian Cup Final at the movies, the new SGSA social distancing guidelines and more in ESSMA’s industry update.

Development & Construction

  • Linzer ASK shared details and the design of its new 20,234 capacity stadium, Raiffeisen Arena. The new stadium will become a climate-neutral and plastic free venue and should be completed by the summer of 2022.

Fan Experience & Hospitality

  • On 1 August Club Brugge will play the Belgian Cup Final against Royal Antwerp FC. As there won’t be any fans allowed within the stadium, the club created ‘Road to the Double - at the Movies’. A limited amount of fans are able to follow the match in the cinema together with other fans.

  • SU Agen asked input from its fans earlier this year in May to develop the club’s new logo with the #TonSUATonBlason campaign.

Safety & Security

  • ESSMA Strategic Partner, SGSA, has published a draft guidance to help sports grounds plan for social distancing when re-admission of fans in allowed.
