Industry update: more on fan experience, ticketing and F&B

Operations & Ticketing

  • Újpest FC is partnering up with ESSMA Corporate Partners 3D Digital Venue and keyper to provide its fans with an online 3D digital ticketing platform.


  • Bundesliga and Amazon Web Services are developing the next generation football viewing experience. As part of the Bundesliga’s determination to improve fan satisfaction, AWS will provide state-of-the-art technology services to take football to the next level in the following areas:

  1. Providing advanced real-time statistics to generate deep insights for viewers of every live-broadcast, highlight clip and digital presentation of Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 matches.
  2. Serving personalised content on digital platforms for Bundesliga fans, while also helping them better understand the game.
  3. Utilising AWS cloud infrastructure, advanced machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence technologies to deliver the right information to all fans anytime, anywhere, on any device.


Fan Experience & Hospitality

  • Borussia Dortmund continues to improve the digital fan experience for its fans. Together with Pressenger, Borussia Dortmund want to get further in touch with their fans via the club app by implementing animated and interactive push notifications.


  • LOU Rugby introduced in-seat delivery for its fans through the Lyf Pay app. 



Construction & Development

  • The Government has announced a total of €20m to Connacht Rugby’s Sportsground redevelopment project. The €10m allocated under the Large Scale Sports Infrastructure (LSSIF) has been matched with a further €10m commitment. The funding will give the green light and provide certainty towards delivering this transformational project for the region.
