Industry update: more on esports, VR and Principality Stadium

• Manchester City signed their second esports player. The 18-year-old Marcus Jorgensen will represent Manchester City in FIFA tournaments worldwide. His first official competition will be the FUT Champions Cup on 26-28 January in Barcelona.
• To announce their newest transfer PSV Eindhoven used Football Manager, an online football management simulation game. Via a short video on Twitter they introduced Maximiliano Romero to the club’s fans.

The Minnesota Vikings will launch a VR application “Vikings VR” for Oculus in the beginning of 2018. With the app, fans can walk inside the U.S. Bank Stadium to view 360° videos and photos from Viking games and events. It gives Vikings fans, who are not able to attend the game, a change to experience the atmosphere on matchdays.

• It is possible that an alcohol-free fan zone for international games will be trialled at Principality Stadium. After a fan survey conducted by the WRU, alcohol consumption was one of the key points The 2018 Six Nations will provide another opportunity for WRU to collect more data on this matter.
