Industry update: more on fan experience, 3D technology and safety
Read more on the cooperation between Liga Portugal and LaLiga to promote professional football, the engaged FIFA 2018 World Cup, the Paris Saint-Germain Training Center, a 3D ticketing service at AS Roma and a facial recognition system for the 2020 Olympics in this short industry update by ESSMA.
Fan Experience & Hospitality
- Liga Portugal and LaLiga World are working together to promote professional football in the Encontros Ibéricos. As part of the project, clubs from Liga NOS and LaLiga Santander will play against each other. Last week Boavista FC played against Getafe CF and CF OS Beleneses played against Rayo Vallencano.
- The FIFA 2018 World Cup in Russia has been the most engaged World Cup in history with over 7.5 billion engagements across all FIFA digital platforms according to FIFA.
Construction & Development
- Paris Saint-Germain unveiled images of its new training centre including a 5,000 seater stadium, training pitches, additional training facilities, a clubhouse and facilities for handball and judo. The Paris Saint-Germain Training Center is expected to opened in 2020.
Safety & Security
During the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, a facial recognition system will be implemented at over 40 venues, games villages and media centers to monitor all accredited staff and athletes to ensure the safety and security at the Olympic Games.
