Industry update: more on renovation, fan engagement and COVID-19 initiatives

Fan Experience & Hospitality

  • Together with all Eredivisie clubs, Eredivisie CV is launching the Eredivisie Shirt Festival. Through a dedicated platform, fans can choose their favourite jersey out of a total of 1.754, which have been worn since the beginning of Eredivisie in 1956.

 

  • With the action, “Sei dabei. Trotzdem!” Borussia Mönchengladbach fans are able to order a plastic version of themselves. Currently, around 5,000 doppelgangers have been installed at BORUSSIA-PARK.

Development & Construction 

  • Real Madrid has published a video with the design of the future Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, which will include a retractable roof and a 360° video screen:

COVID-19 initiatives

  • Principality Stadium is being transformed into a temporary hospital with place for 2,000 patients, with the help of ESSMA Corporate Partner, MottMacdonald. The 74,500-seater Principality Stadium has closed its retractable roof and set up a number of tent-like temporary structures on the playing field.

  • Ferencvárosi TC season ticket holders over the age of 65 will receive a care package as part of the ‘Together at Home’ campaign. The campaign focuses on keeping everyone at home to reduce unnecessary contacts.

  • FC Barcelona is ceding of the Camp Nou naming rights to Camp for the 2020/21 season to the Barça Foundation to raise money to invest in research projects being carried out in Catalonia and the rest of the world involved in the fight against the effects of COVID-19.
