Industry update: more on sustainability, development and safety

SMART & Sustainability

  • From the 2020/21 season, fans of Section Paloise will be able to wear a 100% green jersey made out of recycled plastic. The jersey is made with the equivalent of 13 recycled 0.5L bottles.

 

Safety & Security

  • SGSA officially launched its final version of its guidance SG02: Planning for Social Distancing at Sports Grounds. To support the guidance, watch the explanatory videos, led by Ken Scott, which discuss the contents of SG02. Furthermore, SGSA will organise two webinars on and 11 September on how to implement the social distancing guidelines.

Development & Construction

  • The first designs of the new stadium of Club Brugge have been revealed. The 40,000-capacity stadium should be ready by the 2022/23 season with a focus on mobility.

Operations & Ticketing

  • From 1 October Swedish fans will be able to attend Allsvenskan and Superettan. However, there will be an upper limit on how many spectators are allowed inside the stadiums.

  • ESSMA Corporate Partner, keyper, will organise its second webinar on 2 September at 4:30PM CET on how to make crowded sport events possible again.
