Industry update: more on ticketing, development and safety

Read more on a free streaming account for all Club Brugge season ticket holders, the Dare Skywalk at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a new stadium for Marbella FC and more in ESSMA’s industry update.

Operations & Ticketing

  • All 2020/21 season ticket holders of Club Brugge will be able to watch the matches behind closed doors at home as the club is offering them a free streaming account on Eleven Sports.

Development & Construction

  • Marbella FC unveiled plans for a new 18,000 capacity stadium at its current home ground. The stadium would feature 2,000 underground parking spaces and incorporate a commercial and hotel area with swimming pools for guests.

Safety & Security

  • With the Safe Guest Solution of ESSMA Stadium Partner SKIDATA wants to ensure compliance with all the stringent safety requirements in a fully contact-free process. The Safe Guest Solution is a fully digitised tool that combines electronic ticketing with organizers’ safety requirements and coronavirus tests.

Fan Experience & Hospitality

  • From 31 August visitors will be able to experience the Dare Skywalk on the roof at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.


  • All Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 convened at an Extraordinary Members Assembly of the DFL to discuss a possible partially-uniform approach regarding the possible return of fans to stadiums. The main resolutions which were discussed include: 

  1. No fans in standing areas until 31/10
  2. No away fans until end of 2020
  3. No serving of alcohol until 31/10
  4. Traceability of chains of infections with personalised tickets
