SMART & Sustainability

 

  • Through charging stations, fans with electric cars can supply power to Johan Cruijff ArenA during the match. After permission of the car’s owner, a smart vehicle2grid-technology will connect with the 3MW battery storage. In addition, the system will make sure that the car is fully charged again when visitors leave the stadium.



Development & Construction

 

  • The Paris 2024 Organising Committee has announced plans for a 35,000 capacity arena showcasing urban sports during the Olympic Games.

 

  • Mr. Al Thawadi, General Secretary of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, shared more insights on Qatar hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ and described it as a 'transformational opportunity'. Al Thawadi said preparations for the tournament were on-track and will include the unveiling of three more stadiums in 2020. He also touched on the Arabian Gulf Cup and ongoing FIFA Club World Cup™ as ideal opportunities to test readiness while giving fans a taste of what to expect in 2022.
