Industry update: Updated Development plans for Feyenoord, CA River Plate & Everton FC

Pitch Management

  • SGL, one of our partners in the area of pitch management, will be organising a Masterclass on the 22nd & 23rd of March 2022 in the UK. The two-day event will take place in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the Leicester City Training Ground and will handle topics such as sustainable lighting and sustainable monitoring. Development & Construction

  • Club Atletico River Plate has presented its plans to redevelop the El Monumental stadium. Its capacity would be expanded to a total of 81,000 seats, which would make El Monumental the largest football venue of South America. Furthermore, a new hybrid technology pitch will be installed combined with a new player’s tunnel.© CA River Plate

  • Feyenoord Rotterdam is considering its options for either a new stadium or a redevelopment of its present stadium “De Kuip”. Three different plans are currently being evaluated taking into account different aspects such as buildings costs, commercial opportunities, safety & security and much more. The report is expected to be finished by April.© OMA

Fan experience & Hospitality

  • Everton FC has chosen Forward Associates to deliver fan experiences at its new stadium. The fans can share feedback, which will be used to create the best possible fan experiences accessible to all fans. The new stadium is currently being built at Bramley-Moore Dock and is expected to be ready in three years.© Everton

  • Stamford Bridge will be the first Premier League stadium with 5G connectivity. Shirt sponsor Three, a telecommunications company, enables multiple possibilities to improve the match-day experience for Chelsea fans. A possible application could be in-game player statistics available for the fans at Stamford Bridge in real time.

Safety & Security

  • SafeSight has announced its new partnership with FC Groningen last week. Their safety management software platform will be operational during the second half of the season in the Dutch Eredivisie and ensure the safety in and around the Euroborg stadium.
