Modern multifunctional stadiums on the rise in Japan!
Over the last couple of months ESSMA has expanded her network up to 11 Japanese clubs
Driven by the organisation of the 2020 FIFA World Cup, the hosting of the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo and the country’s early-adopter mentality, stadium development projects have surged in Japan and the country now boasts a number of modern, multifunctional stadiums.
And the Japanese have football at heart with great attendance rates. With an average attendance of 20,750 fans per match in the 2019/20 season, the Japanese first division (J1 League) is projected to be in the top-10 best attended leagues in the world, comparable to the USA’s MLS and the Dutch Eredivisie.
