This year’s Pitch Management Workshop was organised at St George’s Park, the Football Association's national football centre. Over 25 ESSMA Member from 8 countries learned insights and shared knowledge linked to multifunctionality, pitch maintenance, diseases, renovations and the transition between football and rugby.
ESSMA interviewed, Scott Brooks - Head Groundsman at St George’s Park - about the daily pitch operations at the Football Association's National Football Centre. Delegates of our Pitch Management Workshop on 20 and 21 August will have the opportunity to visit the facilities during a two-day tour.
The second 2019 issue of ESSMA’s Stadium Development Report provides information on the stadium projects of Real Sociedad, Levante UD, FC Empoli, FC Venezia and Luton Town FC. In addition, there are insights and updates on the training facilities of FC Groningen and US Sassuolo.
On 21 and 22 May 2019, ESSMA organised its fourth Fan Experience Workshop at Marshall Józef Piłsudski Stadium, home of Legia Warsaw. Over 46 members from 16 countries learned insights and shared knowledge linked to stadium enhancing experiences, fan zones, loyalty, rewarding and attracting fans to the stadium.

As part of ESSMA’s Stadium Development Report Issue 1 2019, ESSMA visited Sparta Rotterdam and discussed the club’s redevelopment plans for its current Sparta Stadium and the training facilities at Terbregge with Manfred Laros - Director of Sparta Rotterdam - and Kevin Valkenburg - P&O and Legal Affairs - as they are both closely involved in the project.
