This year’s European Stadium Tour from 2 to 5 July was held in Russia where several venues in Moscow and Saint Petersburg were visited.
From 29 August to 1 September, ESSMA will organise its Global Stadium tour to several venues in Miami and Minneapolis. Patrick Talty will show participants around the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Recently, ESSMA interviewed Patrick Talty, General Manager at the U.S. Bank Stadium about the day-to-day operations.Â
The ESSMA-BASIS Smart & Sustainable Stadium Workshop was co-hosted by Arsenal FC’s Emirates Stadium on Day 1 and the Rugby Football Union (RFU’s) Twickenham Stadium on Day 2.
Day 2 of the Workshop was kicked off with an introduction by RFU’s Sustainability Manager, Dru Morton. After he welcomed the participants, members were taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of Twickenham Stadium where Morton disseminated a lot of technical data regarding the venue, its operations and sustainability credentials.Â
The inaugural ESSMA-BASIS Smart & Sustainable Stadium Workshop was co-hosted by Arsenal FC’s Emirates Stadium on Day 1 and the home of England Rugby, the Rugby Football Union (RFU’s) Twickenham Stadium on Day 2.Â
This year’s World Stadium Congress was held 21-24 May in Doha, Qatar with a focus on the delivery requirements for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™. Together with several stakeholders, participants had the chance to discuss pre-event, on the day and post-event delivery requirements – from construction, to fan experience, to legacy and beyond.Â
The two-day Pitch Management Workshop in Leicester City FC’s King Power Stadium and Training Centre brought together ESSMA Members to learn, network and knowledge-share on all aspects pertaining to pitch management, from pitch renovations, tools & technologies, to player injury management, budget control and managing events.Â
The host venue for ESSMA's two-day Pitch Management Workshop, held May 10 and 11, was Leicester City Football Club’s King Power Stadium. Throughout the season, their pitch has been the focus of much talk in both the grounds staff sector and wider afield thanks to the hard work and dedication of Grounds Manager John Ledwidge and his team.
