Since June 21st, it has been possible for Russian football fans to return to the stadium on matchday. However, as stadiums capacity is limited to 10% in Russia nowadays and there are numerous additional regulations to take into account, this return is quite a challenge for stadium managers.

KNVB Expertise organised a webinar focused on sponsorship and sales with 30 representatives from Dutch professional football clubs. The webinar focused on ways to provide visibility and added value for sponsors and partners during COVID-19 crisis with insights from Steffen Plein, Sponsoring & Sales Coordinator at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. In addition, ESSMA shared its insights on the ongoing COVID-19 research and best practices on new initiatives and ideas for clubs to expand its reach.
Since 23 May NB1 matches behind closed doors were allowed again. As a next phase, a limited amount of fans were allowed back into the stadium soon after. While for the last three competition rounds, a full capacity was allowed. ESSMA interviewed Máté Bálint - International Project Manager at Ferencvárosi TC - and László Erik Horváth - Infrastructure Expert at MLSZ - regarding the Hungarian restart.
