ESSMA representatives involved in 7th World Stadium Congress in Qatar (16-19 May)

Over 300 industry professionals will assemble at the at The Westin Hotel & Spa, Doha (Qatar) from 16 to 19 May to discuss the new market developments and challenges in the stadium industry. 

ESSMA will host the Stadium Security Workshop on the 16th of May. The workshop will focus on improving stadium security when it comes to reinforcing physical elements, training personnel, integrating innovative security technologies and initiating disaster response protocols. John Beattie -ESSMA President and Stadium and Facilities Director at Arsenal Football Club- and Birger Nass -ESSMA Board Member & Head of Stadium and Security Department at DFL Bundesliga- & Dimitri Huygen -ESSMA Managing Director- will share their tactical insights on how to better safeguard venues. The workshop will showcase prototypes and examples from Western Europe that function as models for stadia all around the world looking to improve their operational security.

On day 2 of the conference, John Beattie will present the topic ‘bring heritage back to your stadium’ during the breakout session. His presentation will detail the ‘Arsenalisation’ protocol that allowed the Emirates Stadium to enhance its aesthetics and improve the club’s fan engagement, as well as the operational procedures that allow the stadium to be a prototype when it comes to all stadium facets.

Amongst the other speakers we also have Sander van Stiphout -Director at Amsterdam ArenA International- & William T. Mannarelli -Director Area Patrimonial of FC Barcelona- who was also speaker at the ESSMA Summit.
