Amsterdam ArenA
The workshop will take place in the Amsterdam ArenA, home of Ajax AFC and the Dutch national football team. The multifunctional stadium was opened in 1996 after a construction period of three years and has a capacity of 53,748 seats and 144 extra seats for disabled fans with their companion. It is known for being the first stadium in Europe to have a retractable roof and is one of the most sustainable stadiums in the world.
The stadium hosted the Champions League final in 1998, several matches during EURO 2000 and the Europa League final in 2013.
“It’s great to take in the knowledge of what other stadiums and clubs do to improve their facilities. We changed knowledge and details with all the people we met. It’s completely what I had expected from a platform like ESSMA and I’m looking forward to the next workshop.”
