ESSMA interviewed William Mannarelli - Director of Real Estate at FC Barcelona - about the Espai Barça project. The Espai Barça project is a large-scale infrastructure redevelopment project to improve (and expand) all FC Barcelona’s infrastructure including their training facilities, Camp Nou Stadium, Palau Blaugrana, the club’s offices as well as the commercial and leisure facilities.

ESSMA’s Corporate Partner 3D Digital Venue builds 360-degree 3D interactive ticketing solutions that aim to enhance the fan experience to increase season ticket holder renewals and provide unique viewing experiences for potential VIPs. By using the technology, fans are able to experience a 3D view of their allocated seat in the stadium.

Míde Ní Shúilleabháin – Facilities, Safety & Sustainability Officer at Croke Park – outlined the stadium’s sustainability initiatives and how they talk about sustainability towards their fans and the wider community.

Rui Lousa - Commercial CEO at FC Porto - shared insights on Estádio do Dragão, host venue of the fifth ESSMA Summit. Estádio do Dragão was inaugurated in 2003 with the aim of hosting three group stage matches, a quarterfinal and a semifinal at the UEFA Euro 2004. In addition, it has been elected to host the 2019 UEFA Nations League Finals. With a relatively low investment of €125 million, the stadium did manage to win several awards regarding construction, sustainability and good environmental practices including the ECA Best Achievement (Non-Sporting) Award for its eco-friendly stadium.
